Paula Patton is playing a journalist who is kidnapped after she starts investigating the world of sex trafficking.
Laz Alonso will join Paula Patton and Omar Epps in indie Traffik.
The thriller, which will be directed by Deon Taylor from his own screenplay, follows a journalist (Patton) who is kidnapped after she starts investigating the world of sex trafficking. Alonso will play Darren, a childhood best friend of Omar Epps’ character.
Roxanne Avent of Hidden Empire Film Group is producing.
Alonso was previously seen as the villain in Fast & Furious and in James Cameron’s Avatar. The actor won an NAACP Image Award for his work in romantic comedy Jumping the Boom. He recently co-starred on NBC’s The Mysteries of Laura alongside Debra Messing and Josh Lucas. Alonso is repped by Gersh, Thruline Entertainment and Stone, Genow.
